This 30-hour weight-driven clock has a brass movement that strikes the hours.
A strategically placed opening in the beautiful painted dial allows you to watch the clock mechanism as it moves. There is a penciled date of 1853 on the inside of the clock. This may be a repair date or a date of purchase.
The upper glass is old and includes the imperfections from the early manufacturing (a wavy appearance and a bubble.) The pendulum bob has interesting flower and leaf designs.
